Publications Recognized for Outstanding Editorial and Design Excellence.
Arlington Heights, IL (January 25, 2012) —Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon amassed a record number of awards for editorial and design excellence in 2011. Bill Wilson, editorial director of Roads & Bridges magazine, received three Construction Writer’s Association Robert F. Boger Awards in 2011 for an unmatched total of ten Boger Awards within the past 12 years. Wilson accepted the 2011 awards on behalf of Roads & Bridges for Best Video, Best Editorial and Best Feature.
SGC’s Style Group brought home two awards from a MIN-hosted event held in New York during Lightfair. Media Industry Newsletter (MIN), a sister publication to FOLIO magazine, honored Residential Lighting’s April 2011 issue with the Editorial and Design Award for Best Single Magazine Issue. The introductory issue of Home Fashion Forecast won Best Launch for Editorial Print. The MIN Award is a national recognition of outstanding content and design among consumer and B2B brands.
Greenhouse Product News (GPN) was honored for the third consecutive year in the Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) B2B magazine competition. GPN accepted the 2011 Tabbie Award for editorial and design excellence. Out of nearly 400 entries, GPN was the only horticulture publication recognized.
SGC Horizon’s 2011 HousingZone.com launch was honored by the Web Marketing Association with the Home Building Standard of Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Home Building Category. Also from SGC Horizon, Professional Remodeler Editor-in-Chief, Jonathan Sweet, accepted the Best Original Research Gold Award from the American Society of Business Publications Editors (ASBPE) for an article on lead paint in the February 2010 issue.
