Arlington Heights, IL (December 21, 2016) — Professional Remodeler magazine is pleased to partner with the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Leading Suppliers Council as co-sponsor of the first New American Remodeled Home (TNARH) in 10 years. Open for viewing during the 2017 International Builders’ Show (IBS) and Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), TNARH is located in Orlando’s upscale Lake Nona community and features the latest technology and home-enhancing products. It was designed and constructed by architect and builder Phil Kean, of Phil Kean Design Group in Winter Park, FL.
The New American Remodeled Home updates a 4,440-square-foot house, built in 1987, that offered a sturdy concrete block foundation and high ceilings, but was dimmed by poor use of daylight, a choppy floor plan and obsolete mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems. Kean stripped down the home to the studs and eliminated “architectural clutter” to create a contemporary island-style home that delivers bright open spaces, a sweeping great room, large energy-smart windows and doors, a wine room, a luxurious master suite with pool access, and two marble-topped food prep/eating kitchen islands. The outdoor living space features a rebuilt geometric-shaped pool, summer kitchen and eating bar.
The remodeled home is targeted to receive Emerald-level certification through the National Green Building Standard program, as well as Energy Star, EPA Indoor airPLUS, and DOE Zero Energy Ready Home recognition.
Complimentary shuttle buses will be provided for registered IBS/KBIS attendees to tour The New American Remodeled Home. Attendees may pick up tickets at NAHB’s booth at IBS.
