Arlington Heights, IL (February 4, 2015) — The Association of Business Information & Media Companies (ABM) recently announced the 2015 Jesse H. Neal Award finalists, with SGC/SGC Horizon’s Professional Builder named as one of four finalists in four categories. The winners, selected for exhibiting journalistic enterprise, service to the industry and editorial craftsmanship, will be announced on March 27 at the New York City awards ceremony.
Professional Builder’s monthly magazine and its ProBuilder.com website are finalists in the Best Commentary category for columns by Scott Sedam; in the Best Subject-Related Package category for the “Housing Giants 2014” feature; in the Best Profile category for the Builder of the Year story, “Doing the Right Thing”; and in the Best Theme Issue of a Magazine or Newspaper category for its May Housing Giants issue.
SGC/SGC Horizon brands tallied 11 finalist recognitions in nine 2015 Neal Awards categories. In addition to Professional Builder’s four category recognitions, Building Design+Construction is a finalist in the Best Technical Content and the Best Newsletter categories, and a two-time finalist in the Best Subject-Related Package category.
Roads & Bridges magazine is a finalist in the Best Subject-Related Series category. The Diapason magazine is a finalist in the Best News Story category, and Residential Lighting magazine is a finalist in the Best Use of Social Media category.
ABM’s Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
