Arlington Heights, IL (October 23, 2012) — Professional Builder and Building Design+Construction magazines have partnered with building product manufacturers to create two modular prototypes outside the North Hall of San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center during the November 14-16 Greenbuild show.
Professional Builder’s Deep Green Modular Construction home features the newest in sustainable technologies, materials and design. The building is targeting LEED Platinum and Net Zero Water and Energy performance. The team is enrolling the project in the Living Building Challenge as well. Bogue Trondowski Architects and Method Homes are heading the project’s design and construction, with the completed module featuring more than 25 manufacturers’ products. The home is a prototype for Paradigm, Method Homes’ new series of prefab homes.
Building Design+Construction’s “Smart, Academic, Green Environment” classroom features high-performance HVAC systems based on energy recovery ventilation for healthier air, noise reduction and energy conservation, abundant natural daylighting, all-natural, non-VOC-containing materials and a steel floor structure for reduced infrastructure. Portland State University, Blazer Industries, Pacific Construction Services (a division of Pacific Mobile Structures) and Oregon Solutions partnered with Building Design+Construction to develop the module, which showcases more than 20 products from manufacturers.
Greenbuild attendees can tour the structures, test the products and talk with the sponsor manufacturers’ representatives.
