The educational platform focuses on green building with session tracks that include Building Information Modeling, Developments in Healthcare and Universities, and Tips on Energy Savings.
Among the accredited sessions are How a Sustainability Program Can Benefit Municipal Stakeholders in Terms of Resilience and Performance, a municipal organization’s perspective on integrating sustainability within a broad, diverse capital development program; The Role of Advocacy, Alternative Power & Incentives in the Era of Clean Energy, a discussion on energy efficiency as the “new” renewable and incentives for renewable technologies; and Informing the Design + Construction of Healthcare Facilities Through Simulation: BIM + VDC at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a look at using efficient, cost-effective “virtual mockups” in hospital design.
The 10th Annual Midwest Greening the Heartland expo and conference, sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council chapters from the 12 Midwest states, opens on September 9 and continues on September 10. The inaugural BUILDINGChicago expo and conference, owned by Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon, publishers of Building Design+Construction, runs September 10-11.
