Arlington Heights, IL (July 15, 2016) — The Trade Association of Business Publications International (TABPI) recently announced the 2016 finalists in its annual Tabbies International b2b magazine competition. Three SGC/SGC Horizon brands were named as finalists in four different categories.
The three brands are: Roads & Bridges magazine, a finalist in two categories: Editor’s Column for Editorial Director Bill Wilson’s “Feeling it out” column, and Special Section category for its Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) section; Construction Equipment, a finalist in the Department category for Frank Raczon’s and Walt Moore’s Buying File; and Residential Lighting, a finalist in the Social Media Category for Nicole Bowling’s and Laura Van Zeyl’s ongoing activity in its social media accounts.
The annual Tabbies Competition honors publications that have exhibited excellence in journalism and design. The 2016 competition had more than 400 editorial and design entries from around the world. The Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention winners will be announced on July 20 at www.tabpi.org.
Just one month ago, all three brands were among the seven SGC/SGC Horizon brands that captured 2016 Azbee Awards in 10 different categories in the annual journalism competition hosted by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).
“Across the board, our brands have been consistently honored each year with prestigious journalism awards for more than a decade,” says SGC/SGC Horizon CEO and President Ed Gillette. “These awards reflect the dedication, hard work and industry knowledge of our team of editors and designers. It is gratifying to see their talents recognized.”
