Residential Lighting Captures 2014 Gold TABBIE Award for Best Use of Social Media

Arlington Heights, IL (July 24, 2014) —Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) recently announced the winners of its 2014 TABBIE Awards, recognizing editorial, design, online and social media excellence among b2b publications. 

Scranton Gillette Communications’ Residential Lighting magazine was honored two years in a row for Best Use of Social Media, bringing home the 2014 Gold TABBIE after capturing the Silver TABBIE in the same category in 2013. The judges’ comments included “Love the use of Pinterest for products and show reviews” and “great activity across all the various platforms.”

Residential Lighting’s robust social media postings by Editorial Director/Publisher Laura Van Zeyl and Managing Editor Nicole Bowling can be found on a regular basis on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Google+ pages and Linked In group discussions. The brand also just joined Instagram. Van Zeyl and Bowling also contribute to social media pages for  Home Fashion Forecast, which received an Honorable Mention in the Best Use of Social Media category in 2013 for its Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest posts.

The 2014 TABBIE Awards had more than 450 nominations from around the globe, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Singapore, the U.K. and the United States.
