Arlington Heights, IL (October 16, 2013) — Sixty-five young stars of the nonresidential construction industry gathered in early October at the Building Design +Construction Third Annual Under 40 Leadership Summit in San Francisco for a three-day event that included the Vision U40 Competition.
Attendees were divided into 15 teams to vie for $5,000 in prizes, awarded for the best solutions to today’s pressing social, economic, technical and cultural problems related to the built environment. The Vision U40 Competition was facilitated by Autodesk Fellow Tom Wujec, the author of “Imagine * Design * Create” and “Five Star Mind.”
Teams had 90 seconds to pitch their ideas to the entire assembly, who then voted for their top five from 15 concepts, ranging from Mobile Wellness to Cultural Food Shift to Less = More.
Building Design+Construction editors invite the nonresidential construction audience to watch the 90-second pitches online and vote for their favorite of the 15 concepts at http://www.bdcnetwork.com/15-great-ideas-under-40-leadership-summit---vote-your-favorite.
Both the in-person event winners and the online-vote winners will be announced once the online voting has concluded.
Attendees earned up to 10.5 AIA CES Learning Units at the event and participated in exclusive tours of Autodesk Gallery and the Mission Bay/UCSF Science & Technology-Healthcare-Mixed Use District.
