Arlington Heights, IL (September 5, 2013) — Architectural, engineering and construction firms are encouraged to nominate their outstanding young professionals, under the age of 40, to gather at the Under 40 Leadership Summit III, sponsored by Building Design+Construction, a publication of SGC Horizon LLC/Scranton Gillette Communications.
The Summit will be held October 9-11, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. U40 Summiteers will compete in groups in the new VISION U40 COMPETITION to solve problems related to the built environment in eight categories:
- Access + Mobility
- Aesthetics + Beauty
- Climate Change +
Environment - Food Equity
- Human Health + Performance
- Human Spirit + Quality of Life
- Social Justice
- Technological Innovation
Winning teams will share $5,000 in prizes. Attendees can earn up to 8.0 AIA CES Learning Units and participate in exclusive tours of Autodesk Gallery and the Mission Bay/UCSF Science & Technology-Healthcare-Mixed Use District.
“This year’s program gives young design and construction professionals the chance to address major social problems that are truly important to them,” says Robert Cassidy, BD+C’s editorial director. “We hope to see some innovative solutions come out of the Summit.”
