Arlington Heights, IL (January 21, 2013) — Construction Equipment magazine, a media property of Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon, reports that nearly half of the nation’s construction professionals have bumped up expectations for this year, with 48 percent expecting growth in contract volume compared to 2012. Construction Equipment published its Annual Report & Forecast in the January 2013 issue.
This exclusive industry report has been established for more than 25 years and is the only subscriber-based survey that focuses on the footprint of the construction industry. The Annual Report & Forecast looks not only at the industry as a whole but also at individual markets to create a detailed picture of the coming year. Business expectations, volume revenue predictions, the current state of professionals’ firms and more are analyzed.
In 2011, Construction Equipment joined with SGC/SGC Horizon sister publications Building Design+Construction, Professional Builder, Professional Remodeler, Roads & Bridges and Water & Wastes Digest to expand the Forecast into nonresidential, homebuilding, remodeling, transportation and water infrastructure markets. The 2012 results show positive trends for revenue growth in all surveyed markets: transportation, 33.2% expect revenue to increase compared to 2012, fleets 40.6%, water infrastructure 45.5%, home building 50%, remodeling 70.4%, and nonresidential 56.4%.
“Pent-up demand exists in all markets covered by the publications in the SGC/SGC Horizon stable. These markets are poised to move forward, hopeful that 2013 will be more than a transition year to robust construction activity and growth, but maybe even a full year of solid business activity,” says Rod Sutton, editorial director of Construction Equipment.
