Arlington Heights, IL (December 1, 2015) — When PRODUCTS magazine’s first quarterly issue debuts in March 2016, it will reflect the vision of its newly hired Editor-in-Chief, Nigel F. Maynard, as a product magazine like no other. This high-end publication will be printed on hefty, glossy stock and will offer sumptuous imagery, in-depth stories, case studies, news items — and most importantly — a first look at products that are noteworthy, innovative, and new to North American builders, remodelers, architects, and designers.
Maynard grew up in St. Croix, where he learned construction in junior high helping his step-dad build the family home from the ground up. Since that early introduction to residential construction, he has bought and remodeled four homes, and has taken up cabinet and furniture making. His current home was featured on HGTV’s I Want That! and was profiled in The Washington Post.
Prior to joining SGC Horizon, Maynard was the Editor-in-Chief of Lebhar-Friedman’s all-digital products magazine, Residential Building Products & Technology. Previously, he spent 14 years at Hanley Wood as senior editor of Builder magazine and its sister publication Residential Architect, where he amassed eight prestigious honors for editorial excellence, including AZBEE and NAREE awards.
“Without products, there is no house,” says Maynard. “And innovative new products help builders produce high-quality houses. I am extremely excited to bring this all-new, focused product resource to the marketplace.”
Produced by the publishers of Professional Builder, Professional Remodeler, and Custom Builder, the PRODUCTS brand includes a weekly e-newsletter and a resource website that will offer videos, blogs, and a Made-in-the-U.S.A. products section — both launching in January 2016. The magazine will be distributed to more than 36,000 subscribers in print and 70,000 digitally. The e-newsletter will have an audience of more than 111,000.
