Arlington Heights, IL (August 21, 2013) — Five new continuing education courses have been added to the BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Conference’s morning and afternoon schedule on Tuesday, September 10. These five courses are open to all attendees at no cost, however registration is required to award accreditation. The three-day conference offers a total of 74 accredited sessions. 

Sustainable Design Uses for Large Opening Wall Systems, presented by Matt Weber of NanaWall, joins the September 10 schedule at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Continuous Insulation Systems for Exterior Walls, presented by John Broniek of Icynene Inc., at 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. New additions to the September 10 afternoon schedule include Operable Glass Walls for Flexible Interior Space Division, presented by Chuck Braun of NanaWall, at 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Code Considerations in Fire Rated Glass, by Tim Nass of Safti First, at 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Daylighting With Electrochromics, by Tim Finley of SAGE Electrochromics, Inc. at 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Expo and Conference will be held September 9-11, at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, North America’s largest LEED Gold-certified hotel.

The 10th Annual Midwest Greening the Heartland expo and conference, September 9-10, is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council chapters from the 12 Midwest states. The inaugural BUILDINGChicago expo and conference is owned by Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon and runs September 10-11. SGC Horizon is the publisher of Building Design+Construction magazine.
