Arlington Heights, Illinois, April 12, 2019 — The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) has announced the winners of its 2019 Regional Awards of Excellence. Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon won a total of 16 Upper Midwest Region Azbee awards across the following brands: Roads & Bridges, Imaging Technology News, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology, Storm Water Solutions, and Water Quality Products. The following SGC Horizon brands also earned Regional Azbees: Construction Equipment, Professional Builder, and The awards were presented on April 11, in Chicago, during the ASBPE Upper Midwest Region Ceremony.

Roads & Bridges earned a Gold Azbee in the Print - Special Section category, and a Bronze for its Online - Enewsletter for its Florida International University bridge collapse coverage. In the Online - Podcast category, Roads & Bridges won a Silver Regional Azbee for its “Infrastructure Insider” submission “Revitalizing East Chicago, Indiana, with a Bridge.”

Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC) earned a Silver Azbee in the Online - Social Media Presence category, for its “DAIC Reaches 100,000 People or More Each Month on Social Media” submission.

Imaging Technology News (ITN) won a Silver in the Online - Single Topic Coverage by a Team category for its “Team Coverage of Proton Therapy,” and a Bronze in the Regular Column-Contributed category for “Insights in the Medical Imaging Industry.”

Storm Water Solutions earned a Silver Award in the Print - News category for “Wildfire Warnings” report; and a Bronze Award in the Online - Video News category for its “Tunnel Vision” segment.

Water Quality Products won a Bronze in the Print - News Analysis category, for “Coping in Cape Town” article.

Additionally, three SGC Horizon brands earned Azbee Upper Midwest Awards. Construction Equipment, in the Print - Special Supplement category, earned a Silver for “Annual Report & Forecast;” and a Bronze in the Print - Case History category, for “Telematics Contribute to Project Success.”

ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence honor the best in business-to-business media, recognizing outstanding work by B2B, trade association and professional publications. One of the competitive award programs for trade media, the Azbees highlight editorial, online and design excellence with magazines, newsletters and digital media. For 2019, ASBPE reported that it received more than 1,000 entries in 68 categories.

National gold, silver and bronze winners, and the Overall Excellence winners, will be announced at the National Azbee Awards of Excellence banquet, held in conjunction with GenerationB2B, the 2019 ASBPE National Conference at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, FL, on May 9-10, 2019.
