Arlington Heights, IL (October 30, 2013) — A 27-year-old who started a business with one customer and one borrowed piece of equipment when he was 23 is one of the winners of Construction Equipment magazine’s inaugural “Under 40 in Construction Equipment Awards,” announced today. A total of 24 young professionals, ranging in age from 24 to 39, were chosen by Construction Equipment editors for exemplary leadership skills, inventiveness, interpersonal skills, training, dedication, personal integrity, technical skills and industry and community involvement.
The winners are not only asset managers who run fleets, but also distributors, manufacturers and others employed in construction, paving, demolition, excavation, safety services and more. Achievements by the Class of 2013 range from cost-effective management to safety initiatives, elimination of cost overruns to designing and utilizing specialized drilling attachments.

Volunteerism was a frequent common factor among the Class of 2013, with many of the winners involved in charity drives, disaster recovery and coaching high school sports.
