Arlington Heights, IL (February 4, 2015) — The Association of Business Information & Media Companies (ABM) recently announced the 2015 Jesse H. Neal Award finalists, with SGC/SGC Horizon’s Building Design+Construction (BD+C) named as one of four finalists in three categories. The winners, selected for exhibiting journalistic enterprise, service to the industry and editorial craftsmanship, will be announced on March 27 at the New York City awards ceremony.

Building Design+Construction magazine (and its website BDCnetwork.com) is a two-time finalist in the Best Subject-Related Package category for its “School Security: Can Design Prevent Another Sandy Hook?” and its “Technology Report 2014” articles; in the Best Technical Content category for its “Construction Technology Reports: BIM, Virtual Reality, Big Data” coverage; and in the Best Newsletter category for its “Daily 5 eNewsletter.”

SGC/SGC Horizon brands tallied 11 finalist recognitions in nine 2015 Neal Awards categories. In addition to BD+C’s multiple category recognitions, Professional Builder and ProBuilder.com are finalists in the Best Commentary category; in the Best Subject-Related Package category; in the Best Profile category; and in the Best Theme Issue of a Magazine or Newspaper category.

Roads & Bridges magazine is a finalist in the Best Subject-Related Series category. The Diapason magazine is a finalist in the Best News Story category, and Residential Lighting magazine is a finalist in the Best Use of Social Media category.

ABM’s Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
