Arlington Heights, IL (October 16, 2014) — Attendance at the 2nd Annual BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Conference & Expo totaled nearly 600 and included architects, engineers, contractors, property owners, real estate developers, government officials and members of community organizations from 27 states. The event was held September 29-October 1 at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, North America’s largest LEED Gold Certified hotel.

Produced by SGC Horizon Building Group’s Building Design+Construction magazine, AIA Chicago and the Midwest chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council, the conference offered attendees workshops and more than 60 accredited education sessions with a concentration on sustainability and energy efficiency. Attendees also had the opportunity to network with their peers and with sponsors who displayed their products
at tabletop exhibits.

A call for papers for the 3rd annual BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Conference will be issued in January 2015. The event will return to the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza in Chicago on August 31-September 2, 2015.
