Arlington Heights, IL (April 22, 2020) — Two of SGC Horizon’s brands, Building Design+Construction and Pro Builder, were named winners in the 66th annual Jesse H. Neal Awards. Considered the “Pulitzer Prize” of B2B publishing, the Neal Awards are the most esteemed honor in the business press, recognizing publications for editorial excellence and honoring their role in reporting on the key issues, trends, developments, and innovations across U.S. business.

Building Design+Construction team members Robert Cassidy, John Caulfield, David Malone, Catherine LePenske, and David Barista won in the category of “Best Instructional Content.” The award singled-out the brand’s BDC University, an online portal providing comprehensive education for architects, engineers, and contractors, helping them hone their design sensibilities, understand critical construction practices and stay on top of leading technologies while fulfilling the learning requirements of their profession.

Pro Builder team members Denise Dersin, Rich Binsacca, Larry Nigh, Ingrid Bush, and Mike Beirne won the Neal Award in the category of “Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper/Magazine.” The winning edition, January 2019, highlighted The New American Home, technological advances in home building, the burgeoning build-to-rent market, artificial intelligence and many more real-time issues facing the housing industry.

“The Neal Awards represent the pinnacle of business publishing, and these awards shine a spotlight on our industry-leading editorial teams,” said Tony Mancini, Group Director and Principal of SGC Horizon Building Group. “Winning a Neal Award recognizes our editorial and design teams' commitment to creating content that allows companies to run better businesses everyday.”
