Arlington Heights, IL (January 7, 2015) —SGC Horizon and Scranton Gillette Communications announce the promotions of John Rogier to Publisher of Building Design+Construction and David Barista to Editorial Director, effective January 6, 2015. Robert Cassidy is transitioning to Executive Editor and will continue to significantly contribute to the brand’s editorial and event strategies.
Rogier served as BD+C Associate Publisher for the past 18 months and has an extensive history in the building/construction industry. Prior to SGC/SGC Horizon employment, he led Buildings magazine as Publisher, Plant Engineering as Associate Publisher and had previous sales experience with the BD+C brand.
Formerly Editor-in-Chief of BD+C, Barista has covered the U.S. construction industry for more than a decade and has won numerous editorial awards, including three prestigious Jesse H. Neal Awards, as well as multiple honors from the Construction Writers Association and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
Robert Cassidy is the author of several books, winner of numerous journalism awards, including six Neal Awards, and was honored with the 46th annual G.D. Crain, Jr. Award in 2014 for his career record of product quality and high journalistic standards.
