Arlington Heights, IL (February 13, 2013) — Robert Ivy, FAIA, CEO of the American Institute of Architects will be the BUILDINGChicago conference keynote speaker on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, and Jerry Yudelson, noted author of 13 books on sustainable design, will deliver the Wednesday, September 11, keynote speech.

Ivy, who began his architectural career as a firm principal at Dean, Dale, Dean & Ivy in Jackson, Miss., will discuss “Current and Future Trends in the AEC Industry.” Yudelson will share research from his latest book in his speech, “What Do They Know That We Don’t? Lessons From Beyond the U.S.”

Ivy served as Vice President/Editorial Director of McGraw-Hill Construction and Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Record, and was awarded the G.D. Yudelson, one of the first LEED professionals to be named a LEED Fellow, has keynoted nearly 100 green building conferences in 14 countries during the past five years.

“With his experience at Architectural Record and AIA, Bob Ivy will bring to the conference his in-depth knowledge of where the AEC industry is headed,” says Robert Cassidy, editorial director of Building Design+Construction and BUILDINGChicago Conference Chair. “Jerry Yudelson is a remarkably prolific author and an excellent speaker, with an engineer’s instinct for the practical.”

The BUILDINGChicago conference and expo will be held September 10-12, at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza — North America’s largest LEED Gold Certified hotel. Co-located with BUILDINGChicago will be the U.S. Green Building Council’s annual Midwest “Greening the Heartland” conference, which will be held September 9 and 10. Both conferences will offer AIA/CES- and GBCI-accredited courses for attendees.
