Arlington Heights, IL (February 6, 2014) — The Association of Business Information & Media Companies (ABM) announced that Robert Cassidy of Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon has been chosen as the winner of the 46th annual G.D. Crain, Jr. Award. The award recognizes a business media editor with a proven career record of product quality and high journalistic standards. It will be presented to Cassidy at the 60th annual Jesse H. Neal Awards ceremony on March 14, 2014.

Cassidy has a 36-year history of business journalism, with an early focus on the fields of medical and scientific publishing. In 2002, he applied his talents to covering the construction industry as he continues to do today as editorial director of Building Design+Construction magazine and related products and events. With Cassidy at the helm, his publications have garnered four Neal Awards.

“I’m honored to be included among the distinguished past winners of the ABM Crain Award,” Cassidy says. “I’ve been lucky to have a 36-year career in business-to-business media, and I am very thankful to the Crain family and ABM for this recognition.”

Established in 1969, the G.D. Crain, Jr. Award is named for Gustavus Dedman Crain, Jr., the founder of Crain Communications, Advertising Age and BtoB Magazine.
