Arlington Heights, IL (September 10, 2015) — Three Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon brands have been chosen as finalists in four categories for the 2015 Eddie Awards. The annual competition, hosted by FOLIO: magazine, draws thousands of entries among national and international B-to-B and consumer publications in its salute to editorial excellence.

SGC Horizon brand Professional Builder was named a finalist in two B-to-B construction/manufacturing categories: Best Series of Articles for its “Professional Builder’s Housing Giants 2015: Special Report” and Best Full Issue for its May 2015 issue. Earlier in 2015, Professional Builder won multiple awards for Scott Sedam’s monthly column and Professional Builder’s “Housing Giants 2014 Report.”

SGC brand Residential Lighting is a finalist in the B-to-B Overall Use of Social Media category for the second consecutive year, the same category for which it received a finalist distinction in the 2015 Jesse H. Neal Awards. Earlier this year, Residential Lighting took home a 2015 Azbee Gold Regional Award for its exceptional Social Media Presence. SGC brand Greenhouse Product News (GPN) is also a finalist in the Best Full issue agriculture/farming category for its July 2014 issue.

The Eddie Awards competition recognizes editorial excellence and is the most inclusive awards program of its kind in the industry, honoring all categories of magazines — consumer, B-to-B, custom, and association. The 2015 winners and honorable mentions will be announced on October 19, during an awards luncheon in New York City.
