Residential Lighting Magazine Captures National Gold Ink Bronze Award for Custom Insert/Pocketed Cover Presentation
Arlington Heights, IL (October 29, 2012) —Scranton Gillette Communications’ Residential Lighting magazine received a National Gold Ink Bronze Award in the Magazine Inserts category for a custom Satco/Kolourone 8-page insert in the publication’s April 2011 issue. The award also recognizes the uniqueness of the insert’s presentation, tucked into a specially created vertical pocket incorporating the Satco/Kolourone ad on the inside back cover of the April issue.
The content and design of the insert and pocket were produced by the Scranton Gillette Communications’ Custom Media Division, working closely with Residential Lighting advertising partner Satco Products Inc.
The National Gold Ink Bronze Award was presented by Printing Impressions, Publishing Executive and Book Business on October 8 at the Gold Ink Awards and Hall of Fame Gala in Chicago. The prestigious awards competition is open to all print material producers worldwide, including book, magazine and catalog publishers, direct marketers, and display and packaging developers.
“The Satco/Kolourone insert and its pocketed back cover delivery received tremendous positive feedback, not just from Satco Products, but also from our readers and advertising partners,” says Residential Lighting’s Publisher and Editorial Director Laura Van Zeyl. “The success of this insert resulted in a second custom project for Satco Products, with a 52-page insert delivered once again in a pocket on the inside back cover of the September 2012 issue of Residential Lighting. Our entire team is very gratified to receive this most prestigious recognition from the National Gold Ink Awards competition.”
In November 2011, the April 2011 issue of Residential Lighting captured the Media Industry Newsletter (MIN) Editorial and Design Award for Best Single Magazine Issue, and its sister publication Home Fashion Forecast won MIN’s Best Launch for Editorial Print Award. The MIN awards competition is a national recognition of outstanding content and design among consumer and B2B brands.
