Arlington Heights, IL (July 2, 2014) — The BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Expo and Conference, to be held September 29-October 1 at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, offers three keynote presentations in addition to more than 60 accredited sessions.
The first, sponsored by the Green Building Initiative, will be delivered opening day, September 29, by Gordon Gill, FAIA, OAA, AIBC, of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. Gill will discuss “Sustainable Design Lessons Learned From Tall Building Design,” in the context of his firm’s experience around the world.
Closing the September 29 sessions will be keynote speaker Chris Pyke, PhD, Vice President of Research for the U.S. Green Building Council. He directs the development of the Green Building Information Gateway, a unique global data platform for the green building industry, and represents the United States on greenhouse gas mitigation issues related to residential and commercial buildings on the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The October 1 keynote, “Leveraging Smart Grid Technology to Transform Chicago’s Commercial Buildings,” will be presented by panel members Michael Cornicelli, Executive Vice President, Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA/Chicago); T.J. Brookover, BOMA/Chicago; Mike Munson, Metropolitan Energy; and Rob Tabaczynski, BOMA/Chicago.
