Arlington Heights, IL (December 1, 2016) — Professional Builder, North America’s leading business publication dedicated to the home building industry, announced its 2016 Builder of the Year at the Housing Giants Leadership Conference, held in October at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. LGI Homes, headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, is the latest to capture this prestigious honor.

Founded in 2003, LGI posted more than $630 million in revenue (an increase of 64.5% over 2014) and 3,404 closings in 2015. In the past four years, it has climbed in the rankings from #57 in 2013 to #25 in the 2016 Housing Giants list of the country’s top builders.

The LGI Homes executive team was honored during an awards luncheon at Professional Builder’s Housing Giants Leadership Conference. Full coverage of the company’s business and operations is featured in the December issue of Professional Builder with extended coverage on http://www.probuilder.com/2016-builder-year-turning-renters-buyers.

“LGI Homes’ skyrocketing revenues and corresponding rise in the Housing Giants rankings over the past few years have been impressive,” says Professional Builder Editorial Director Denise Dersin. “With a mission of ‘keep it simple,’ the firm developed a plan to turn renters into buyers and has remained loyal to it.”

“We would like to thank the team at Professional Builder for recognizing LGI Homes as the 2016 Builder of the Year,” says Eric Lipar, LGI Homes’ Chief Executive Officer. “We are incredibly proud of this honor and believe it is a true testament to our systems and processes which have allowed us to grow and scale over the years. Most importantly, we would like to thank our 606 employees and our 15,000 customers—without you this achievement would not be possible.”

Naming its first winner in 1966, the Builder of the Year program celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and continues its objective of acknowledging home builders whose innovative ideas and business results present the best in home building.
